So I’ve been chosen to take part in the finals of the ‘Grote Prijs van Nederland‘, (literally ‘the Big Prize of the Netherlands’) which is a contest for producers of all sorts of music (though mostly dance) disciplines. The finals will be held at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, which is – in my opnion – a great place to showcase my music.
But I’m not there yet. First up are the semi-finals which consist of a series of 20-minute mixes by all the 15 producers taking part in the contest. These will be published as podcasts around the 12th of September, and can be downloaded from djbroadcast.nl. I’ve been asked to come over to Amsterdam to record the podcast on the 1st of September, so wish me some luck will ya!

Six months have passed since I started with the 2-track releases and now the third and last release is ready. SOAKED + PLEASE is a refreshing and honest release, consisting of the laidback hiphop-esque ‘Soaked’ track and the more folky/bluesy ‘ Please’ tune. I hope you enjoy the tunes and appreciate the amount of love and effort put into these releases.
As a means to improve my mixing skills as well as to put out some fresh stuff regularly I did this mix with Mr. Tom recently. It features some tracks that fit perfectly for those lousy Sunday mornings.

The second release in the 2-track series is called “YOU + MENTAL”. A refreshing contrast that will tickle your senses and pound your eardrums. First track features vocals by the talented Wannes Salomé. Grab ‘em while they’re still hot!

So, it’s been two months now since my last release and I’m glad to tell you there’s some new stuff coming. Another double single is to be released first, and I’m thinking of doing some ‘major’ release like my EP last year. It won’t be the same thing though, because I don’t like repeating myself. Might be a series of tracks or even a mix, hell it might even be a new video.

After a lot of hours spent editing and mastering I’ve finally finished both singles. As a nice treat I’ve also made two video’s that accompany the singles. Nothing too flashy.

A little status report of what’s going on lately. Last week I’ve finished work on the ‘double-single’ that I’m going to release soon. It will contain a remastered version of ‘Midnight’ and a new unreleased track. Sounds pretty neat right now but there’s still some things that need a little polishing.
So stay tuned! It should be available around November, can’t really tell for sure since I’ve got some exams coming up but that shouldn’t be much of a problem. Keep it cool! stay fresh w/e
It’s been three weeks now since my first release “SUCKERPUNCH” and it feels like it’s time to tell you all what I’ve been doing. Top priority is turning the album into a live set, which takes more time than expected. All individual sounds have to be exported separately so they can all be handled independently when I’m preforming live. It’s something that I’m not really used to doing, and thus it takes some time to do it right.
Another thing I’m working on is promoting the album. I’m thinking about re-mixing some songs to make them appeal to a broader audience. Stay tuned for this and don’t forget to spread the album!
